Hi DCSS Homeschool families!
We have heard from many of you that the April 4th date for science fair will be very difficult with EXCELebration being that day and the time sneaking up on all of us. In fact, many of you have said that your family is not able to participate due to schedules.
We have decided to MOVE the science fair to be held on May 9th at Patterson Park Church during the field day activities. This will allow for more families to view and see the hard work that has been done by our students and allow your student additional time to complete their projects. Projects may arrive with your student at 9:30 am and will be setup at Patterson Park Church at the Information Tables. The display and all supplies must be setup by 10:00. Judging will begin at 10:00 and run through the morning. The students will go to morning class/parties as judging is completed. Judging is by grade level and appropriate for grade level. Remind your students that this is a learning process, an opportunity to work on presentation skills, and a time to learn more about what the Lord has created! All students will receive a certificate of participation.
Science fair is judged by grade level and a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the scientific method, research, presentation, and presenting their findings and results to others.
We desire to support families as they educate at home, but not alone! We appreciate each of you and desire to make this science fair experience the best possible. If you have any questions or concerns or would like to talk about the date change please call me at 291-7240 or email me anytime.
