A Unique Opportunity with the Dayton Liederkranz Turner German Club
Each year at Christmas time, I direct a youth choir for the Dayton Liederkranz Turner German Club (near the Oregon District).
I would really appreciate it if you could send this info out to your homeschoolers’ group. This is a great opportunity for the students to sample a foreign language, and participate in a musical group for FREE and with only a 5 week time commitment. Parents are welcome to stay in the rehearsal area, or there is also a large Rathskeller (with internet access) downstairs, where families can hang out during rehearsal.
Thanks a lot.
Young singers from 8-18 years old are invited to come and learn to sing favorite German Weihnachtslieder (Christmas Carols) auf Deutsch (in German) at the Dayton Liederkranz Turner Clubhouse, 1400 E. Fifth Street, Dayton, OH 45402 on 5 Thursday evenings – November 6, 13 and 20, December 4 from 7:30 – 8:30 pm; December 11 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. After these rehearsals, the Jugendchor will join the other choirs of the Dayton Liederkranz Turner to present a gala Christmas Concert, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 7:00 pm at the Liederkranz Turner Great Hall.
The lessons and concert are free and offered to any young singers in the community who wish to participate.
For more information, or to sign up, please contact the director, Judy Schneider – 937-433-3451 or mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org http://www.daytongermanclub.org/
A Chance to See if Your Student May be Interested in the Kettering Children’s Choir
This is from the Kettering Children’s Choir. The Christmas concert is free on December 14th and would be the perfect time for homeschoolers to come and check out the program. Auditions will be held next May. The concert is amazing.
While these opportunities are not sponsored activities of DCSS, they have been suggested by a parent in our homeschool program. If you have questions, please contact the homeschool office, and we will connect you to the individual who can assist you.
