Music Talent at DC Homeschool!

Lucas and Andrew(Lucas – front) (Andrew – back)

Out of 800 students who applied to be in the OHIO STATE middle schools honors band, Andrew Haines made it in the top 6 middle school percussionists in the state and will be playing at Ohio State in the Scarlet Honors Band on Feb 21st!  In addition, Andrew Haines and Lucas Hung have been selected in the top 8 middle school percussionists in the district 12 OMEA honors band at Kettering Fairmont on Feb 14th.

Micah's Omea 2015

Micah Hung competed with the Class B solo ensemble arrangement of Nocturne by L. Bassi on his Bb clarinet in the District 12 High School Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event at Walter E. Stebbins High School on January 31, 2015. He earned a rating of 1, the highest score.

Hannah

Hannah Collier participated in the Ohio Music Education Association solo and ensemble contest. Students could choose pieces of music in classes A, B, and C with A being the most difficult. Hannah performed a class B solo called “The Bells” and earned a rating of 1. She had to play her pieces in front of a judge, as well as play scales he asked her to play. There were students from schools all over the Miami Valley present.
