Helping Hands Volunteers Needed

Helping Hands of Miamisburg is an organization that offers a food pantry to local residents.  This organization has been operating for over 50 years, and Dayton Christian Homeschool has the privilege to serve the community on the last Wednesday of every month.

Cleaning out the Homeschool storage room this summer is a win-win!  As you can see in this picture, we have plenty of bulletin board items, curriculum, decorations, and manipulatives to GIVE AWAY.  We even have boxes to haul your items home.  Stop by B-211 anytime Tuesday – Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in July.  Once the dog-days of summer (August) arrive, all of THIS will be gone.

Wetherbrooke Farm Equine Science & Barn Management Program for Dayton area Homeschool students

Wetherbrooke Farm is starting an Equine Science / Barn Management Program. The program will be operated by Joy Von Handorf, owner and head instructor at Wetherbrooke Farm. The program will cover topics about horse care, horsemanship, and farm management.

DC Homeschool is hiring the following teachers:

Art teacher- Plan and teach art to students in grades 2-8.

Register for Little Sibs 2018-2019

EXCEL Little Sibs Class

Would you like a fun, enriching class for your preschooler while your older kids enjoy EXCEL and a little extra break for yourself?

 Little Sibs, taught by a qualified Christian teacher, will meet each regular EXCEL day and include biblically integrated enrichment in the areas of literacy, mathematics, fine and gross motor skills, health and safety, social skills and more.

To register for this class, the child must be

  • The younger sibling of a currently enrolled EXCEL student
  • Fully potty-trained
  • Between the ages of 3 ½ – 5 years by Sept 1, 2018

Class Fees:

  • Little Sibs class fees are $250 for the year per child.*
  • Little Sibs class fees will be billed to 2018-2019 statements from DCS Finance Office

Homeschool Office / Library Hours

This summer the Homeschool Office and Library will be open 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with the following exceptions:

June 19
June 20
June 21
June 27 Open until 1:00 p.m.
June 28
June 29
August 1
August 2
August 3

These closures are to accommodate the cleaning and waxing of the facility.

5th & 6th Grade Girls Soccer 2018-19

The 5th / 6th Grade Girls Soccer Team will be participating in the CYO of Greater Dayton league again this season.  Girls entering the 5th or 6th grade at Dayton Christian during the 2018-2019 school year are welcome to participate.

 There will be approximately 12 games starting mid-August and wrapping up at the end of September, with a tournament following the regular season.
